Sharkbay no fishing fiesta

Just seen the sharkbay fishing fiesta won't have a fishing competition any more it's just a fiestanow apparently. They are blaming the changes on the new rules but sounds like the committee has taken the left turn and gone green doesn't sound like sharkbay to me only ever went to one and there wasn't a lot of fish weighing in but a lot of people having a good time that was about 20 years ago seems a shame.

I reckon they will be pretty worried about how much pressure the shark bay area will receive over the next year or so given all the metro closures. Might be avoidong the competition to help avid any additional pressure it might generate. it is a shame.

You could be right there. The rules and regulations have changed a lot since I was there last. The Gascoyne and pilbara regions will get hammered more than usual. We're giving coral bay a miss this year . Wanted a change and I feel there will be lots more boats in the region

Reading the statement I think it's probabaly a mix of what you suggest Sea Goat, and trying not to shine a light in the place as the next place for the govt to bring in restrictions.
Carnarfin shoud get solid numbers if they go ahead this year!!!

Fisheries made dicks of themselves cpl years back at the fiesta
Treating decent people as criminals when they came in after a day out at the ramp, can't imagine what it will
be like now.

Most Officers I've had
Most Officers I've had interactions with have been really good, it's a shame there's always one on a power trip.
But I guess some prbably get fed up with the abuse just like the coppers do.
