Saturday Snapper

Awesome little solo trip out from Two Rocks yesterday, didn't take any bait or burley to force myself to just use jigs and plastics, just finding nice looking ground and drifting through. Managed my first sized snapper for the year (haven't been out much), must have pretty much cast the plastic on top of him. One thing I noticed is when I was using the tiger baku Baku and kohga jigs as soon as I drifted into sand patches almost straight away hooked up to small flathead, going to be using that when the demersal ban is on to target bigger ones. Plenty of skippy around too. Not too many people out, think everyone was at the D9

Thats the spirit , solo mission , finding ground and giving yourself a challenge and hooking yourself a feed ,,,,,, joining endless others at the d9

sounds bit silly to me too! ,,,,,,,,,,,, been dying to get back to two rocks ourselves , we did a huge trolling day very early this year picking up some tuna, and

dropping a decent mack or bigger tuna inside direction B covering alot of miles. ,,, but more too the point we marked at least 15 waypoints of great interest

that at least some  would have to hold big stripy fish.

Cheers, did a fair bit of trolling up there earlier in the year, still trying for that Spaniard trolling out of the tinny (got 2 metro land based but can't seem to crack it on the water) but did reasonably well on SBTs. Would rather make the run up to Two Rocks than hit the Sound, just gets bloody crazy

In the bottom photo, I would hate to have it latch onto my finger when trying to get a hook out.
