i have never used a saltist but i love my torium

actually casts really well but haven't had much of a chance to bottom bounce with it as of yet

why do u need a bottom bouncing outfit nicson?

To be honest, altho both reels can do all of the above, both are very similar to each other in size, style and quality. The only difference is that the Toriums are only available in high speed and Saltists are available in both. Saltists also come in levelwind version but avoid it if possible for heavy fishing.

Really its down to personal preference, best bet you go to the shop with both and have a look.

Well...the saltist has the narrower reel with the 30T and they make smaller ones again, 15 and 20.
No you dont have to lay the line all the time. Just do it every so often so it doesnt get out of control. While fighting the fish you dont have to lay line as well, just do it when you have bit of time.

I just read a post on the some tacklewebsite

SALTIGA vs TRINIDAD

well it was a good review, the trinidad got 9.08 or something outta ten and the saltiga got 9.16 outta ten

the review said the saltiga was finished better, bit stronger drag etc etc but I personally like my Trinidads over the saltigas because of my use for them

I have a 16 and a 16n both of which I use on my mulloway outfits and both have cast control, I personally find the 16n casts alot better

so saying that I would say the TORIUM cause the TORIUM is the cheaper version basically of a trinidad, which has very similar functions iE cast control

Like honsu said, it depends on your application for the reel and what gear ratio you want, how strong it needs to be etc

my advise would be to go see someone like honsu at your local tackle shop and talk to them
