saltist spin 4500 gear ratio

here's one for you tackle afficionado"s  i have a saltist 4500 spin and i would like to have a lower gear ratio ideally  5.1/4.9 to one , i asked my tackle shop to find out if there was replacement gears (lower ratio) and they said the diawa rep said no , now will 4500 catalina's gears fit or a 4500 excellers gears(4.3 i think?) and are they strong enough? . any light shed on this will be appreciated   cheers.

the catalina is a stronger option then the exceler....But it is also double the price, the exceler 4500 is $249. Personally i would rate the exceler above a saragosa

thanks fellas , i just want to explore the option of replacing the gears , if its a cheap option i would consider it but if its a drama i will sell it and get a stella 8000 pg i was looking for a reel size in between the stellas i have now and i was told how good they were for the price (which they are !) but it is too high geared for the mixture of fishing i do .

cheers

Saltist 4500

Im assuming the Saltist is the black and blue model. Yes the Exceller gear "set" will fit but why the hassle?? Sell it and get the Stella to increase your range. The Catalina 4500 looks good as well.

Replacing gears with alternatives will void warranty and maybe not be as cheap as you think.
