Road side assistance

Hi all just got down to leeman last night after driving from port Hedland. About 3 am Friday morning we hit massive bull just north of carnarvon  and our car is pretty well stuffed  my 6 metre boat snapped the front post on the trailer and we were pretty lucky it didn't end up in the back of our car.

The worst part of the accident was the 10 to 15 other  boaters/ fishermen heading north that just drove past and didn't stop even with me trying to wave them down by flashing torch sat them. Thanks a lot to those guys pretty piss more in my books but what goes around comes around you blokes and one  day you ll be the one that needs help. In case you are wonderingly young family including my 2 year old boy are fine and the tow truck driver was the most helpful bloke he helped me repair the trailer and get the boat sorted so we could get it down to leeman.

Just wanted to say to the blokes that drove past thanks for nothing. Very disappointed that fellow fisherman won't stop to help you out when you need it the most. I can't believe it to be honest.

And to john our tow truck driver known as carnarvonite on these pages thank you do much for every thing if we didn't have your help we would have been stranded  for hours and not got our boat sorted  you did way more than just tow the car. Helping me fix the trailer and get the boat back on and letting me use tools at the shop your a true Aussie. And a good bloke thanks so much!

I wonder...

Sat, 2014-04-19 14:26

...if any of those who went past were forum members...not that it matters; being a good Samaritan isn't a prerequisite for signing up on here.

What DOES matter is having people like Carnarvonite around....it's pretty hard to determine who somebody really is just from words and pictures on a computer screen but over the years this fella has proven time and again that he's the real deal and would give the shirt off his back to help a friend or stranger in need. They're simply not enough Carnarvonites in this world.

Sorry for what happened to you, Matt...the important thing is you and your family are safe, and hopefully you'll be back on yer bike and on another holiday sooner rather than later!

I feel ashamed for the wankers who just drove by, it makes me sad to know that there are people like this amongst us, having said that I do beleive they are in the minority

and Karma realy is a bitch and if they where fw members I hope I never have the displeasure to meet them.....of course noone will admit it was them members or not

My favourite saying is "there are too many dickheads in this world" good to see there are still great people among us to balance it out.

Well done canarvonite, christianity is still alive

It's very pleasing to know that there are still some people who will help out a stranded traveller. To those who failed to stop and offer assistance, karma be upon you. I'm real glad to hear that nobody was injured and you finally got to Leeman.
Hope you have a great Easter Matt.

Bull

While loading the car and boat up we could hear it in the scrub but couldn't see it.

Went passed the next day for a look and couldn't see anything, from the damage it did no doubt it would be dead or bloody sore, don't pity Matt having to wash all its shit off his boat, it was literally everywhere.

Good to see such

Good to see such acknowledgement for all your help John.

Glad everyone in your car is without injury OP, a loss of Australian cultural identity in giving a bloke a hand is becoming more common & especially over a holiday period

The shit

Sun, 2014-04-20 11:49

All that cow shit came off pretty easy john not as bad as I thought it would be. You wouldn't read about it but blowing hard straight up the coast here not the best conditions ha ha. Hopefully drops off early next week and I can get the boat out for some much needed fishing.

Thanks to all you fellas for you good wishes too hope you all have a great Easter.  Happy fishing fellas and cheers again

Sad to say

Sun, 2014-06-15 20:39

A few years back my old girl & her partner used to manage the worramal raodhouse. I used to race up there to help out as ofter as i could. Even back then, it was sad that when ppl did break down out there next to whoop whoop it was a rareity for "everyday" people to pull over jsut to say "gday mate-- Everything ok"  Like ya said thou OZZY, even trying to flag ppl, nothing short of standing in the middle of the road in front of them and they still go around ya.

As everyone said alread.. We need more Canavonite's in this part of the world... Good job man :)
