disagree

Big shop like BCF Joondalup does the job of putting line on your reel.

ic. well before you put your braid on, make sure u spool in some mono to act as backing. if not, your braid will just slip and spin in the spool even when your drag is the tightest. that happened to me before. =)

Spool some nylon backing. Does not have to be anything special, it is just to provide grip. Lets face it, if you ever get down to that your spooled. LOL.

I might be wrong but I aim for the smallest connecting knot between the mono backing and braid possible. Whatever your prefered but this is where I do like the slim beauty ( double Uni and mod Albright for me normally). It just faces the right way. I dont use a long lenght a backing either. Just enough for grip as the Nylon bites into the spool.

Some of the never reels have a claim that braid hold, and that is just plain crap.

Now you need resistance to wind on the braid under some tension. Resistance and tension!!!! Get the partner to help, that will always cause some resistance and tension.

My way and some of my friends have laughed at me but works. I have a polished chrome bar. Wrap the braid a few times around this and this creates enough tension to wind it on tight. They do sometimes wrap over themselves and create a BIG Fish feel but it is easily fixed.

Do not use anything with a rough surface as this will damage the braid. If it is wound on to loose you will get wind knots for sure.

Another way is to wind it on some old crapy reel loosely. Then set the drag on the crappy so that there is resistance and wind it on to the new reel.

Hopes this helps a little Yella.
