Random Image can not random

I always get the same PIC when Random Image...

I know we have been toying with the idea of removing random image altogether because of the amount of old stuff being brought up, but I do like it. We are trying to see if having just one image randomly change every so often will reduce the load on the database. When you have to constantly pull an image out of 15,000 photos, over 100 users doing so at their browsing rate, the server is constantly focusing on how to do that, rather than perform other functions its meant to.

could you limit the time
could you limit the time frame on these random immages , in turn there will be a lot less to sort. altho i do like to see some of the older pics
