Heading up to quobba in a couple of weeks and was just wondering if there is any action in regards to the mackie run?

heard that the sharkies are in early. dont know off the spaniards. in up there in 4 weeks my self so please keep me upto date. thanks.  by the way i would try 100g rairar lures, cast far,let them sink to the bottom then crank real hard. i never fail with that technique.always lands me a spaniard!!

ive tried the halcos and theyre ok. but when you perfect using the raidars, the outcome is insane.  i have been spooled on my stella 10000fa off the caves and other rocks. it takes a whilst to get it spot on like you need a 6 to 1 spin reel. best time to fish i think is between 7 and 9 am. i manage about 4 hookups in that time. i only use 10 big gun singles now because i lost too many fish to trebbles. i only use 86lb single strand stainless wire trace because i get more hits like that for some reason.   any other qeustions just ask. im up there 13 dec and come back 21 dec.    if you know whare i can get pink snapper please tell us.  best of luck!

yer i will definately get some raiders, im using a stella 18000sw which should have the retrieve, i dont know of any pinky spots but if we find oneill be sure to tell you where we got em. might try some back to back singles on some halco twisties and see how it goes, have you fish back to back singles? what type of line do you fish off your 10000??

just back from quobba

got back this morn, conditions were good up there we had easterlies for thurs fri but it was f**kin hot and flies were terrible.
first day tuesday morn went to gaarths early, water was very green, we got 3 cobia (1 tipping 20kg) a shark makeral and a northern bluefin tuna.
day 2 noth from garths day 3 nothing from caves came back friday night coz the fishing was super avg.
when there there was a lot of activity further out mostly little tuna though, not much mackie action at all.
however when we left the current had looked to have moved right in and the water out in front of the homestead was very blue, i reckon the mackies will turn it on within the next couple of days.
good luck and let me know how you fair.
