Catfish are always a problem
Catfish are always a problem fishing in the creeks up that way. The best option I have found is live mullet and get them in as close to the snags as possible. Lock up and hold on.

Use lures. Catties will
Use lures. Catties will still take a lure, but not as often as they steal your bait.

otherwise get your bait
otherwise get your bait closer into the snags, generally if you bait is too far from the snags all you'll get is bream and catties. closer in is more jacks and cod. however if your fishing the middle of the creek for salmon ect catties are just something you gotta put up with unfortunatly. I also found that catties love 5inch plastics but the 7inch puts them off a bit. good luck
I live with fear every day... sometimes she lets me go fishing.
