PRETTIES

Recently a good mate was kind enough to show me the light – or sparkle in this case. Have been testing these pretty trinkets on Herring and Tailor, surprisingly, with great success.

With the price of some of the hardbody lures ATM, I reckon these are a cost efficient alternative and work equally as well, if not better than a lot on the market. And coz of the weight of the glass beads, they cast an absolute treat.

Going to put some together for the Mackies and other pelagics up North for the comp, can’t see why they wouldn’t work for them either, especially on all the girl fish.... lol

In the mean time .... stringing up some nice big sparkly ones and hanging out for Salmon season .....

Only limited by your imagination

Bucks

Mon, 2010-01-25 14:47

Not after the bucks Eddie, and is not my idea anyway.

There is a fair crew that don't have up to $30 to spend on a lure, and they work just as well!! All up, I reckon these small ones cost max $2.00

The Tailor responded best to the lure being twiched, but had to retrieve faster for the herring before they could get a good look at it..... with the these ones anyway.
So funny to see them hit it, miss the hook and come back for a second look to see WTF was that lol

Nah Col, but no reason you couldn't use that. I've used some stuff I found at Bluewater, wire coated with red plastic stuff, and crimped it.
edit.... called 'Bleeding Leader Wire'
Another mate used plain wire and twisted the ends.

Anybody know the best hooks for Mackies and Dollies??

I might rig up the other half's Pandora bracelet, surely that would get some interest from the fish!! In terms of rigging a single, I would use Owner Jobu's.

Hey Dale, I love pushing the boundaries...but I would never do that , I'm afraid that her sense of humour would never extend that far!!, But in all honesty the Jobu's are probably the best single hook rig you can use.

Bead Shops sell them, craft shops, markets yada yada :)

Danno, only tried for Tailor and Herring so far. Apparently the Bream guys use a lure that has 2 red glass Beads and jigged..........Ohhh, Yeah ... the other benefit of the glass is the noise they make when they click together ;)
