Pissed off in Iso

Felling very bored and thoroughly pissed off.

Was supposed to be holidaying down at Augusta with the family , who have come down from Exmouth for their usual yearly  salmon catching adventure, but are stuck in isolation after missus tested positive Saturday morning after we all gathered for tea on Friday night. So we have 2 households sitting back twiddling our thumbs for the next 7 days.

At least the owners of the holiday house have refunded 100% of our booking fees even at 24 hours notice that we won't be coming so it a big thank you to Sandra and Errol.

Retested myself this morning and still negative but with the way the missus is I would expect its only a matter of time before the 2 red lines appear

 That timing really sucks.

That timing really sucks. Hope you either don't get it or you get a light dose.

Well done to the property owners for being so reasonable.

Not great news and bored shitless, good news on the refund.

Few guys here at work have had the same, family test positive and they never did and still haven't, you might be the lucky one.

Welcome

Welcome to iso, you will have plenty of time to do all those little things your missus has dreamed up over the years that you have sort of pushed aside and you can use the excuse now that you can't go to Bunnings

I know the feeling, all packed up ready to push the go button and something beyond your control pulls the rug out from under it

I'll squeeze in another 10

Tue, 2022-04-12 07:48

I'll squeeze in another 10 replays of the Eagles v Pies game

I've been fully expecting this as I am assisting coaching my son's Y7 team which is rife with it and training at my gym 3-4x/week getting up close sparing and grappling etc... just spewing it's over the long weekend.

Good a time as any to do those bearings and give the boat a detail.

 The only advice I've heard

Tue, 2022-04-12 10:58

The only advice I've heard from east coast friends and family is to really take it easy, even if you have very mild symptoms. It tends to impact you in the future if you don't. Tell that to the missus!

Bearings

Tue, 2022-04-12 12:02

Replaced the bearings during last week, serviced all the reels one would have taken, replenished tackle box and did all the little things to get ready to load up Monday morning before it all turned to crap. Oh well there is always next week and might take the drive down to Hamelin and catch up with pro fishermen mates there for a chat and chuck a line in to stretch the arms a bit.

Son and his family are pissed off because they have driven down from Exxie to sit around like a bottle of flat piss for a week doing nothing, but it can't be helped, rules are rules for the good of the whole community not just a select few who think it doesn't involve them

Finishing my ISO tomorrow.

Tue, 2022-04-12 11:06

Finishing my ISO tomorrow. Wife got it and she is immune compromised so has been hidden away in the master bed since testing positive. Had plenty of symptoms prior to testing positive and we were interacting as normal. Touch wood me and my 18 month old son have no symptoms and have tested negative this morning and a few days ago. Its a weird thing

went through our house, my wife the only one not to get it - whilst isolating we carried on as normal at home (ie did not separate ourselves from each other) - she has her own business in the medical industry is customer facing seeing 20-30 people a day so has to rat test every day - still not got it.
my wife has a rare blood type - read a bit on studies that show people who have less common blood types are less susceptible to catching c19.... probably the only upside!

If you don't test yourself then there's no way of failing and ruining your plans. You're welcome.

It's not a variant of the flu, it's an animal virus that jumped to humans. So something entirely new, thankfully it's mutated to something less virulent.
