Pilgramunna

Hey guys,

Just curious if anyone has information regarding launching a 4m dinghy at Pilgramunna. It is a deep Stacer and I will be Launching it with a 2008 Nissan Navara.

Cant seem to find out much information on this, Just that you can launch a small Dinghy.

No keen on getting the car very salty.

Any information would be great

Thanks

You'll be right. We stayed a week and put a 4.3m in there with no worries, but you might need to work around the tides a bit if you don't want to get the car moist. Low tide had us backing onto the reef a bit.

You guys are legends. I will

You guys are legends. I will give it a bash.

Looking to spend a week on the inside casting hard bodies, poppers and sps. Go a little bit wider when the wind/swell permits.

Hopefully we can get a camp spot at Pilgramunna or somewhere else nearby. Going Friday next week..Stopping in Carnarvon for a crack at the bug mullas on the jetty.

Thanks again

Good luck, hope you get a good camp,,Pilgs would be a great camp,,seems its popular as well which makes it a bit harder to get in,,

We had great success on little green paddle tail thingys (Atomics i think ?)

Only an inch or two long but the fish love them, the kayakers (4 of us) fished SP'S 99% of the time,,

You'll be fine James. We usally camp there and take a 15' quintrex. Time the high tide and you'll be ok. You may get the car a little wet but its not deep. We usually set up a temporary mooring with a couple of larger anchors and some floats. Just a quick wade or swim to get the boat. Nice way to freshen up the morning. Go the Atomic paddle tails in chartreuse. Spango's go nuts for them. Psychodelic hot heads in xtra deep work wonders for coronation trout just outside the reef ( see my avatar ). Hope you have a good trip

Thanks again guys..

Looks like I will have to chance it. I dont mind the wheels getting a bit damp, just the chasis I worry about. Shes my pide and Joy.

Temporary anchor sounds great Mick.  How did you set it up?? Just a few heavier sand anchors??

Nice coronation.. Would love to tick that one off the list.

Peace

G'day James We use an anchor

Wed, 2010-08-11 13:52

G'day James

We use an anchor off my Fraser ( 20' ) with about 10m of chain leading up to a couple of  3m lengths of cray rope and a couple of bouys. About half way along the chain we shackle and wire on a large piece of cray pot ballast. The ballast keeps the chain on the deck so the chop and current doesn't actually lift the anchor. Make sure you set it on the sand as there is a couple of nice reefy bits that my kids just love to snorkel around.

Cheers Mick
