peace and serenity disturbed

Had most of the day off today so as usual it was time to hit the beach.

The day started with hardly a breath of wind and rain clouds off in the distant. It was that quiet you could hear your own footsteps in the sand. Not too much action for most part apart from the usual whiting and a small shark.

It soon changed tho. First a 4 foot shovel nose picked up my bait and after a short fight and hook removed it swam off strong. Not long after one of my lines was screaming off , a good 15 minuit fight I had a 6 to 7 kg trevally on the beach. Quick release and line back in the water. Not more than 10 minutes went by and another rod going nuts  . 10 minuits later a golden trevally of similar size landed on the beach. This time it was going in the esky. All up had a great day chilling on the beach

Great way to spend your time off Russ! Not sure if it's your thing but if I was there I'd break out the saltwater fly gear for a bit of fun.

Not into fly fishing. There

Not into fly fishing. There is enough flies around I don't need to go fishing for them lol.

Seen a few out there giving it a go but generally it's a bit windy for it. They catch small queenies and trevally   I'm more for the big stuff trying my luck and getting a feed of whiting along the way.

Fair enough Russ. If it's windy then I wouldn't bother either.
