Chopper says harden the f*#$ up.Seriously though am in the same boat and have just been trying to tell myself that the chances of a shark attack are so remote its not funny. You should be more worried about blackout or a boat running over you.

a spear gun usaully lets u swim a bit easier :P. another thing u can do with the smaller sharks up to about 3ms is make it a game. like try to scare them. swim at them and try grab one if u do they will usually sh!t themesleves and swim of. for the bigger ones just a poke on the nose or eye when they come to close gets the going. hope this helps

go the sharkshield! i've been using one for over a month now. I don't think once about G Whites now when swimming back to the boat - especially on deeper dives. Before it was always in the back of my mind...

Keep it real however, first thing in the morning and into the evening is a pass for me, spearing fish we'll your asking for interest so the Shark Sheild being a very good option. I use one myself which is great to overcome some fear factor!

They are there and there is
They are there and there is a chance you may be its next meal ,you have to get them out of your head ,if you can't do this give it up as one can't enjoy a dive when looking over your shoulder ,i hope i never come face to face with a big shark,as im sure it would rattle my cage ,good luck with it .

There all well fed up this way. Most of the freediving is in 2-5 metres so you can see things coming from a fair way away. Still good to work in pairs though.
Had my 11 year old daughter swimming around with the catch bag full of crays today so you'll be right.
With regards to spearing up this way, as soon as I spear something I immediately take it back to the boat. No swimming around with bleeding fish for me.

Wouldn't worry...
...if some drunk or hoon doesn't clean you up on the way to the beach/boat ramp you're home and hosed I reckon.
Marine safety vessel pulled me up last weekend to check my gear and the sheila commented about "watching out for noahs". Well why don't I just go back home and hide under the blankets then? You gotta live your life...I don't play Lotto 'cause the odds are so slim so things in the water that can hurt me are even less of a worry.

umm
you got more chances getting into a car smash than getting eaten by sharks but do you see 1000 ppl swimming round in your favourite dive spot in 1 time so statistics dont really count on that one either just take some one with you when you dive will lower yur risk by 50% like ppl take a dog when they go crabbing in the kimberleys

No tricks, just jump in. You
No tricks, just jump in.
You won't see the one that gets you anyway.
Just like night diving, worry about what you can see, ignore the dark spots.
