Newbie to Kayak Fly Fishing

Hi Guys,
I've just bought myself a you-beaut kayak and i'm interested in trying to target black bream on fly in the Swan/Canning from it. If anyone could share some knowledge on this topic that would be greatly appreciated (flies, places, times, leaders etc etc). I am a super keen kayak fisherman and if anyone would like to join me for a bream session on the kayaks let me know.
Thanks guys,
Rick

Have you done much flyfishing
Have you done much flyfishing at all already? Harder to do on a kayak than wading or from a boat as it'd be the equivalent to standing in waist deep water (so not as much margin of error to keep the line above the water while casting). Can be done of course though.
For flies, theres a few types people use, but seems a BMS or hammerhead are a good start. If you speak to Chris at Flyworld, he'll give you some tips on what to use and can pick up some flies. What weight rod and line type do you have at the moment?
Leader wise, personally I prefer a tapered leader than any knotted ones, and a fluro tippet. Perhaps 4-8lb depending how daring you want to be.

Rick,I'm no expert on fly
Rick,
I'm no expert on fly fishing for bream but the best tip that I was given was to fish with full intermediate lines. Fishing with this style of line has the fly sitting deep during the whole retrieve where as a floating/sink tip will draw the fly to the surface. We found that small (sz 2-4) BMS or dubbed flies in any colour with small beadchain eyes were the best. We would cast out and let the line sink for a good 5-10 seconds and then retrieve with very small and quick twitches and long pauses mixed in.
Give it a try man, you will have so much fun from a yak. Also make sure that you have a clear deck as you can guarantee that the flyline is going to get hooked on anything and everything. Give the areas under and around Wyndam Bridge a go. All the flats areas there hold bream.
