Newbie
Hi all,
I'm a real newb!! I'm kinda new to Australia (12mths in), new boat owner (2nd hand 17.5ft),new to ocean fishing & I need all the help & advice I can get.
I'm almost 40yrs old & have fished since I was 4yrs old. The difference is I'm used to fishing in fresh water on really fine lines & small hooks. Over here it's all so different!!
The rods are upside down & the reels are huge, the hooks are like dangerous weapons. My boat is the most expensive piece of tackle I've ever bought & it was cheap. The wife wasn't too impressed though.
I love all kinds of fishing & I really enjoy boating, it's all about being there. Any fish is an absolute bonus (except blowies).
One day I feel sure I'm gonna catch one of them big snapper or duhies, I'm not sure how or where, but I know I'm gonna catch one

thanks guys
I hail from England.
I usually put in at Woodmans or Point Peron. I have no idea where I'm going from there. I dont go very far though. Just taking "little steps", I get more confident with the boat each time.

Welcome fisherking! - Skippers Ticket?
Welcome to the forum matey (from a fellow ex-pom - but many many years ago). Yes, definately different fishing!
Have you got your Recreational Skippers Ticket?
Plenty of helpfull guys in here and LOTS of good fish photos to wet your appetite. (Deefa and co in particular - thanks to there last trip (still green with envy LOL )).
I'm not based in Perth, but there's a very good chance that one of the perth based boaties could allow you to tag along on a trip - perhaps on or past the Five Fathom Bank behind garden island!

I'm sure I'll catch a biggy
I'm sure I'll catch a biggy oneday.
Yeah mate, I've got my ticket. I'm all legal. I just need the fish. If I can take a good feed home maybe her indoors will forgive me for buying a boat.(Or not).

You can try! LOL
Ah, good on the RST FK, just wanted to make sure you didn't get ping'ed as a newby Boatie to WA.
As for 'boat purchase forgiveness' - good luck! That's a LOT of fish LOL.
