I need some help with a pe 5 jigging/bottom bouncing combo I want to spend about $700 I was looking at an expert jigging rod in all boat buisness and pretty keen on that rod or one similar the reel has me stuffed though I liked the tyrnos but do they always click with the ratchet off I found that realy anoying I like the narrow spool design so are there any other options I dont care about brands and this is my first overhead set up and dont mind buying used gear

tyrnos always make a clicking noise
and i doubt whether the tyrnos would be a good choice, very bulky and heavy

Yep agree with Lamby depending on your rod price ??? an Ocea jigger 4000P would a good choice, obviously many more choices depending on left over budget

dedicated jigger ???

Tue, 2011-10-25 19:03

If your after a dedicated jigger then there is not much else in the cheaper range, only other I would recomend would be the single speed Talicas ...Otherwise most of the good reels are $500 and up !!

There are plenty of multipurpose reels that will do the job but once again compromise comes into the picture ...
