Navman tracker 5500 problems
Submitted by silly on Mon, 2012-01-23 11:32
I have a navman tracker 5500 which has recently stopped working.. I have since opened it up to see whats wrong and it appears the pins which connect the front screen to the chipboard at the back are all bent etc (so not connecting).
This was only a back up chartplotter but it has some spots which i would like to get out of it. Is there a place which i can either fix this? or how do i retrieve the spots which are saved in the gps?
cheers

Looks like whoever assembled
Looks like whoever assembled it last time stuffed it up!
What can you do?
1. Make sure you and the work are grounded to avoid static discharge into the boards.... We dont want to fry anything.
2. Using some fine nose pliers, straighten the pins, and then gently re assemble the unit. Taking care to align the pins with the header socket.
This should work providing there is no damage to the tracks, pin solder joints, or electrical damage to the components.
