Not sure about netting in the river. It's fresh water. Crabs want salt, Marron like fresh and there are restrictions on what you can do. My suggestion is to forget about crabs and concentrate of fishing for Bream in the river. The coast offers lots of opportunities to catch a decent fish.

Muddies

Mon, 2012-03-19 10:08

Yeh there was the run of Muddies that made it all the way south about 10 years ago, we got them in Denmark.  Got the photos and evidence if anyone wants to see it, the shell and claws are still hanging down at the holiday house in memory of a crazy crab season!

The muddies wern't in the river for very long.  We caught them up around diamond island, back towards the sand dunes.  Every day for a little over a week in summer, must have been 12 or so years ago.  Very few caught the next year, we only got one and it was undersize, in a week, never seen one since.
