Marron 2022

 Hi Guys and Gals

Just a quick report on the 2022 marron season so far. Opening day was a success. My son dropped his nets in at 12 and pulled his first net at 12.20. He rang me and said 'I've already got five sized ones' I thought he meant out of his six nets, but no, this was just out of his first net. I told him to ring again after pulling his six nets which he did. 'Dad I'm bagged out' this was at 12.30. He had gone with his old school teacher and her husband who had never caught marron before, they also got their bag and were extremely happy getting them. I think we have two more addicted marroners.

I was busy getting the yard ready for our new pool so couldn't go at lunch time. Me and a few mates went Saturday night to a forrest dam we go to and we all bagged out. Plenty around at the moment so get into it.

Choc.

Yeah I know what you mean with the crowds.

I always avoid the known spots and head bush. Spots I go I havent seen another person in years.

Got our bag pretty quick opening day.

A couple of 120's amoungst them was a nice result.

A certain Bunbury School teacher you might know has been getting plenty.

I think he's putting the kids to work on the nets these days.

120's were a bonus. Normally get good numbers there with the odd bigger one.

Access is through private property to a river.

The owner likes us there as we scare off other unwanteds.

Hard work bush bashing but worth the results.

1.2 kilo jobs . Let them go ,same thing private property . Thinking do right thing. Apparently bad thing they don’t breed every year once over certain size . I don’t know if it’s true or not .
