What time of the year are you aiming to do the trip?Different times mean different species and tackle needed for them.

Time of the year doesnt bother me trying to find out whats goods at what time of year and will plan around that but i should of said what i wanted to target mostlu looking to get into some large pelagics off the rocks or reef wether it be jumbo tailor, sambos, spanish macs, tuna im not fussed just after something thats going to get the heart thumping. I dont eat fish only on the rare occasion so not worried about catching good eating fish though i wouldnt mind getting out on a charter to do some bottom bouncing

I get the impression that now is when you wouldn't be doing it. Lot of people back from Steep Point with not much exciting to report.

Is the time of year for the pelagics.

Heard Kalbarri had a thumping run of sapniards this season.

Wagoe

20 min south of kalbarri. You have to book a chalet there to access the beach, Or you can drive from lucky bay (bout 20-30 min drive along the beach) which is south of wagoe. Good chance of other reef fish there too. (snapper, mulloway, sharks and big tailor).

As i said april is best time. Winds have died down a bit and you get a nice offshore in the morning for your baloons. I lived there for 10 years. Love going back there for holidays, place is massive now.

Quobba

Wed, 2009-11-11 09:34

March through to June are the go for fishing Quobba. There is accomodation on the station and most spots are accessable with 2wd though some of the better ones it means a long walk to get to.
Around that time Top Gun2 ,a 65 foot charter boat, is operating from Carnarvon doing 5 day charters out around the islands and as far north as Gnaraloo depending on where the fish are biting.
