On the local scene again.
G'day all,
I just dropped in to to say hi after joining this site the other day.
First chance I've had to log on.
Tho I'm new here, I am no stranger to WA and Perth fishing as I have been around since late 1973 - ex US and NZ
I have been away since the end of 2004 and recently returned. So I have a lot of unfished hours to catch up on.
With no boat except 12' tinnie without motor things will be a bit restricted for a while.
I hope to run into some of you great people on fishing outings around this fair town and afar and look forward to many hours online here at Fishwrecked.
Broke my draught with this fine little specimen at Hilarys Marina south end last week. Went 3.43kg and made for 4 delicious meals.
Cheers, Howz60

On the local scene again.
Thanks for the welcome Colin.
I was fishing with my son where the road bends around behind the car park area almost behind AQWA.
There was a fair wind in our faces and quite a chop running with an ebbing tide around 9.30 pm.
This was the only decent catch amonst a couple of banjos and 1 port jackson.
Being a Saturday evening all the space on the north side was taken as was around the lighthouse. We were late getting there and missed what tailor were around earlier and the herring were playing hard to find.
Was just great getting out there again and relaxing, even if I do prefer a cushion of sand under my butt.

You did well
That is a good spot for tailor there. Should be a good tide for an early morning fish there this weekend. You can also try fishing near the Groynes to the south of the marina. They are supposed to work okay in the autumn and winter.

Big Thank You For Warm Welcome
These days I don't get to do the fishing that I would like to but just staying in the square with other fishos by means of this site will help ease the pain.
Hopefully along the way I can impart a little of what I have picked up over the years.
If I can help someone with a query or point them in the right direction - that will be as good as catching a fish that day.
Cheers,
Howz60
P.S. Heading off in a few minutes for a late start to todays fishin' and an early start to tomorrows. hmmm, do I need some gloves..scarf...gets cold 3 - 4 am

Welcome howz
Welcome mate. Nice catch. With that sort of generous nature, you'll do well in here. Good to have you onboard! Sounds like you've lead an interesting life OS.
