Not fishing related but please bear with me, want to have a look under the plastic engine cover on my freelander td4. And it has these bolts? Never seen them before and not sure of they have just been put there by someone. The car is a 2003 model so it's pretty old.
Anyone know what they could be

Looks like someone snapped a torx bit off in the top one. I'd just use a small hex socket to get the bolts out.

top one stud
Top photo looks like it may be a stud (they are sometimes driven in by 6 or 12 point socket) with just a nut on it.
Bottom one is probably M6 machine screw.
So for both 10mm socket should sort 'em.
