With all the reports of MACKS, I might look into doing some kite fishing from shore and the boat for some fun. Get one on a kite and become more popular than Sherbert

You will never be able to see
You will never be able to see the chopper good enough to control the thing from a km away. What you want is a BIG foam electric plane, at least 2 metre wingspan. The bigger the better. A lot cheaper and easier to fly. Only to drop your bait out there and come back of course.

why not just a rc boat??
have a look what they use in uk for carp fishing rc boat designed for droping baits (i think they call them bait boats) used on the big gravel pits when your target is to far to cast to or you want perfect positioning every time u can also fill them with burley at the same time??? not sure how stable it would be in the ocean???? and i think its cheating lol.
