King George right?

Caught this last week and measured 54cm. Was convinced that it was a King George and now after a question from old man about the darker "patches" on it I am unsure.

Just coz it has dark patches
Just coz it has dark patches doesnt mean anything, may just be how theyv adapted for the area they live in,
