just another idiot
i've seen a few posts about people doing stupid things lately thought i would throw in my experience this morning.
i was cruiseing along the 4wd tracks on my quad this morning with my 5 year old just going for a lesurly ride to check out the surfing comp on at the beach when i came accross a few branches on the track, they were only small so i just rode accross them only to drop into a big hole dug in underneath them
some complete idiot has come along on a busy track dug a deep hole and covered it with branches
luckily i was only going slow and the hole wasnt big enough to throw me off the quad but the tracks are busy and plenty of guys on 2 wheel motorbikes go through there at high speeds it could easily have killed someone or done serious injury.
i dont know what sort of brainless person would do this

some clown was dragging branches across the tracks at Drummonds a while back, Id pull them out of the way when walking my dogs a couple of days later they were back.
No holes underneath though. Thats a man trap.

Kids maybe.
Dont know the area personally or how isolated it is but i reckon it may be kids. I think many of us would have gone through that booby trap hunting type phase when we were young and stupid and then we turned to a real hobbie like fishing.

Mate that's bloody appalling! I know if that happened to me and my little one I wouldve wanted blood! I'm glad you and your kid are ok. Probably not a good idea to report it unfortunately, may result in closure of tracks, not just for the safety side but also the vandalism in doing that. Definitely need to keep an ear to the ground up there, hopefully you overhear some bragging at the pub and you can sort him out! Unbeleivable stupidity!
