I pulled this old guy up a week or two ago:
It was a fish I'd never seen in the flesh before. Since then I've done some research, and I think it's a bit rare to catch.
How special would you say that it was?

Heard of them off busso jetty before but a great catch and not too common. What did you get him on, they are suppose to love live yellowtail

Got one off Rocko about 20
Got one off Rocko about 20 years ago, only one I've ever seen caught.
As far as eating goes, right up there with the very best !

I have seen one caught
from memory in approx 60-80m off Albany - on a large knife jig I think it was. Definately a jig in the 200g+ size.
Reverse cycle a/c supply and install - Ducted and wall splits

They are my favourite eating fish but ive never caught one myself. Ive heard they only take live bait - or a lure presumably
