Rated for what though? Its not like you can use it for fishing line class records, so thats kind of pointless.

But you can

Braid is acceptable by IGFA as long as it tests within the line class classification.

Keep in mind IGFA rated can

Keep in mind IGFA rated can mean the comp line classes,  not neccessarily the line will break under the stated line class.

You can have a line classed as 10 kilo that will break at 15 kilo.

If it breaks over 10 especially in the case of a record when put thrugh the line tester you are not going to be receiving a record.

Pretested is true line class that will break within the lines tested range.

Is Jerry Brown braid, hollow braid?

JB braid has good reputation

Thu, 2010-01-07 22:35

JB braid has good reputation on gtpopping.com as nice reliable braid at a reasonable price. Shame they don't appear to make multicoloured version for jigging.

They make both hollow core and solid braid (at heavier lbs at least).

I'm trying to find an economical alternative to ygk ultrajigman for busy charters where it isn't uncommon to cut your line, I'm leaning towards JB.

Anyone used xzoga braid? its pretty cheap on ebay, one review on another forum wasn't very good though.

Yeah and JB breaks so far

Yeah and JB breaks so far over poundage that you can forget line class records with it.

I was trying to buy a spool of  Daiwa Saltiga Boat Braid, its colour metered, 8 ply and a quite good weight for its PE rating but I gave up because no one had the PE6/80lb size in stock.

very highly rated

by a lot of game fisherman and tuna jiggers in the states. Having read about it extensively and IMO the pricing is very good, I took the plunge.

I have a spool of 100lb hollow core and 10lb solid core JB on order (hope it arrives soon?) - I plan on using the 100lb hollow to jig with incorporating a knotless leader in the chinese finger trap method. I was also planning on using the same thing for casting at GT's as well, but I've been told the hollow core doesn't cast very well. I'll have to wait and see on that I guess.......
