HI
With the ban looking at dampening the future catches of the V5,
Besides skippy, harlys and whiting, what other fish are worth taking home for a feed?
Also, while on the subject of the ban, What do you think would be the punishment if
you decieded to take a pinky or dhuie during the ban and were caught?
Cheers

Red emporer, coral trout,
Red emporer, coral trout, mackies and other Northern species.
I will be heading North again during the ban to get my fishing fix.
As for the fine I think thats farely standard isn't it.
$750 for the offence + 10 times the market value of the offending catch. Thats been the formula they use for all offences I believe.

Try it
This may raise a comment or two - but if you are going north - try ocean catfish. The creeks ones are a bit muddy but years ago i was told by a part aboriginal kid in Port Hedland that they were ok. I tried them and still eat them. Best if the fillets are taken as soon as possible, wrapped in clingwrap and left 24 hours in the fridge before rolling in egg and breadcrumb and cooking.

oh well.............
for me it's going to be a bit of work time in NT with a few barra and in WA off season, I'll just give up bottom fishing and troll for pelagic around Rotto, Fads for dollies and try for some big deep sea skippie off a few secret spots I know of.

It takes a strong fish to swim against the current. Even a dead one can float with it
