Help with Anchor retrival Float!!!!!

G-Day guys is there anyone who can help me.
i have just recently got a anchor retrival float and i was wondering how to use it exactly.
i was told it is good for anchoring deep which is what i have always wanted to do on some of my spots when it flattens right out.
please let me know by pm or post any help or input welcome and much appriciated .

Theres a video link here or here that should give you some idea. Might be some slight differences for different designs though. I've heard of some systems where you untie the rope and drive off leaving the anchor too (presumably for safety or a tuna school?)

I have one for sale actually its different to the one in the video clip if anyones interested complete with float and clip.
easy to use just drive up on the float at approx 45 degrees , the boat pulls the anchor up and the float is retrieved along side the boat.

I use one and wouldn't be without it. All you do is attach the snap connecter with float attached to the main anchor line and let it slide to the water. (Make sure you have plenty more anchor rope out than needed) Then I drive forward watching the foat come past me on the starboard side and I continue on doing wide circles until the float drops below the surface in the distance. (This is when the anchor is up off the bottom and often the float is down to the chain) Then all you do is point the bow of the boat at the float, drop the boat into nuetral and easily pull in and coil the anchor.
Its one of those items that once you purchase, you wonder why you ever retrieved an anchor the old way.

Yup, good stuff. I normally make sure the anchor is not snagged first, by going over it and actually pulling the rope. Then let out some line, clip the float on and then motor away making sure the line dies not go under the boat. My float will stay on the surface as the boat pulls away. Tie a bright ribbion at the anchor, so that you can easily see when the anchor is up at the float.

painting the float a different colour than white helps to see it in your prop wash. Especially in shallow water. I painted mine yellow.

Mine came with a yellow float supplied... The spring clip is hard to slip over the rope at first but with some perseverance and minor mods it works great... and the missus has stopped complaining about pulling up meters of rope
