we buss it all the way to derby and back in 16days.
stopping at all the usual spots including broome.
is it worth taking a handline/ rod this time of year?
only decent chance will proboly be in broome
cheers

If you fish Broome jetty you better have a bloody strong rod, mainline, leader and hooks (like a Camagatsu Live bait style) because you will have to haul them up. Otherwise you WILL need a cliff gaff. Most of the aboriginals there (and they are in the know) use strong handlines.
I fully agree with the feather jigs (mariboo jigs, LOL the spelling) but also look for a little red flash in some (the name has jumped out of my CRAFT {cant remember a F*&$#ing thing}mind). Never never ever go without a gold twisty or a 100.
Hope this helps and wind flat out till your arms want to fall off.
