GPS malfunction

Hello all,
While fishing this morning, I noticed the GPS was dropping its sattelites very often, something which never happens.
Finally a message pops up on the screen saying "GPS MODULE NOT RESPONDING".
It is a Lowrance unit with an external antenna.
Its certainly got me confused.

Do an update first Chris.
Do an update first Chris. Download it from the lowrance site onto an sd card and run it through your unit.
If that doesn't work, get a cable from someone with the connectors, swap it with yours and see if that is it, youll know one way or the other.... then just buy the cable. I had the same trouble and the update fixed it for a few months and then the cable change worked after that.

Had exactly the same thing.
I got some crc xtr contact cleaner and sprayed the plugs. All came good
( watch out as some contact cleaners melt plastic)
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Fixed
Pretty sure I fixed it guys.
It was the negative terminal (wire) which was falling apart at the spade end. This must be the power supply from the antenna unit as well.
Cheers
