When i joined a site that was specifically for GPS's, I asked the same question as tracks I had saved on my GPS did not match up on Google. I was told that Google is not 100% correct where as your GPS should be spot on.

Are the coordinate systems
Are the coordinate systems the same? E.g. one in decimal, one in degrees?
Try checking if google maps is the same (they now have an option under the green icon to show pointer location). Seemed spot on when I converted and checked on my phone. Can convert coordinate types here.
Are there any landmarks that you can check that you're sure of the location? If you search on wikipedia for landmarks around perth you can check them on google maps/google earth, and perhaps your GPS if you feel like walking. Example.
Also might be worth checking if they're using different datums.

Works for me!
Have tried the same thing, was out by about 10m, pretty close I reckon.
Cheers,
Joe
