Gday all

Well after a few too many years of abstinence from fishing, i am back at it!!! Managed to keep the tub and fishing tackle so all good. Didnt lose half of that!

Just wanted to say hello again even though i wasnt a hugely active member. Have been logged back in to Fishwrecked for last few weeks seeing some familiar names around. Topic of halving the bag limit is somewhat scary but some very good discussions going on.

Managed 3 trips out this year already which is 2 more than last years total!! Not been overly successful but very trying conditions on two of the trips. Yesterday i was interested in having a look at the artificial reeef at Ocean reef. Unfortunately fish were shut down & even after 40NM of moving around didnt manage much apart from a baldie and a flathead of all things!

Would be interested if anyone has had any succes off the artificial reef. Can't seem to find much info on catches there.

Fisheries came and saw us almost at the bank. Popped up out of nowhere. Apparently not much caught at all yesterday so a little bit of relief that i hadnt lost my touch.

Anyway, looking forward to getting amongst it this year & getting involved in some discussions.

 Welcome back mate

Sorry not much luck for you yesterday but kinds makes me feel a bit better as I haven't been able to get the boat out for week due to a massive work load and 12-13 hr days.

Look forward to a report and some pics at some stage.

50 nm for several undersized snapper but whilst there were fish on the sounder they sure as hell weren't feeding despite it being predicted to be a good day.   oddly whenever the prediction is good I do poorly and when predicted to be bad do really well.....go figure.

Been out pulling the pots about 4-5 times a week with only a cray a day showing up in last 4 trips but haven't dropped a line in since leaving Shark Bay nearly 3 years back so hopefully in near future will bring the lines out

Found the opposite yesterday, bagged out by 8.30 after a 6.30 launch -  also checked by fisheries at the ramp, good to see they are making their presence felt!

The bite was pretty good or it was the hybrid jigs we we're using - literally had our 4 fish and even released a 65cm dhu..
