Freediving for crays

Hey dudes

Looking for general areas where it's max 5m depth where I can catch some crays. Was thinking around burns rocks. Would there still be whites around there? Or have they walked into deeper waters.

Any general advice or direction would be great, only ever used pots, never dived but have a loop handy.

I would often get a bag full

I would often get a bag full at the Yanchep lagoon.  Ocean side of the small reef that goes north from the carpark lagoon. Heaps of caverns most are somewhat covered with seaweed.  And no boat.

But I did that some 15 years ago.

If you dive off burns rocks be aware the seals there

can get a bit "too friendly" at times. I don't think the whites have started marching out deep yet but you might run into a big white that mistakes you for a seal!! I never really enjoyed diving around that island for that reason cheers dave
