Flick rods

Hi all, in the market for a pair of flick rods. One to cast lures from the beach (surf) with lures up to 3 or 4oz  and the other that I can use for light lures for the rivers and dams ..  I'm a bit tired of lure fishing with my 12 foot surf rod .. it's just too much .. so a shorter/lighter rod is what I'm after .. and i would also like to get my hand into river and dam fishing with soft plastics and small lures .. what are the opinions?

For the beach stuff at a reasonable price have a look at the assassin range. I have a 9ft beach rod that is great for the salmon run.. for the light stuff I've got a couple of travel rods that are easy to transport great to use, done trips to N.Z. and they fit in my suit case!

daiwa has some good lure rods in the 9-10ft range that are light as a feather and lowerful as buggery. I run the sandstorm with a 4000reel and its mint. For my river stuff ive got an old faithful 13 fishing omen black from years back that i love paired with a 1000reel it does the job wwell. But as mentioned above site sponsors have a killa range to choose from. For you smaller gear there is always blokes on the bream pages or scumtree selling good rods at decent prices

Not planning on heading to Perth any time soon to check out rods. Was hoping to troll the net and see what was good and then try and get locally (price dependent)
