Fishing today
Submitted by Paul G on Sat, 2009-09-26 18:05
Headed out today with the wind at around 22knot ,not a plesant start to the day .the drift was quite good for the amount of wind ,we started fishing around the 14 mile mark with not much luck one undersize dhuie and some small fish. after lunch the wind droped of and the fish started to bite.finished the day with four dhuies and a baldy.released a six foot carpet shark one dhuie a blackass and a hammerhead shark in all good to be out on the water again.

Good to hear your motor went well.We hooked a whale damn they can move and if anyone thinks that you can cut the line before they get your reel half empty is kidding themself.
So tell me have you got your info from years on the water or hours on the internet?

tell me about it, especially
tell me about it, especially when you already have nearly 50m of line on the bottom and a whale swims through your line and you hesitate before cutting it thinking there just might be a chance the line will slide off it... but nope.. it wont!

good to see you got a few fish , sounds like it turned out to be a great day both with the weather and fish, did you get a chance to open the new donk up or do you got to run it in for a bit?

sat
I went out on sat windy as hell in the morning when it dropped headed out but still it was crappy out there made it to the bank it calmed down a tad had a few drifts plenty of bites bunch of hookups and a few lost a few but ended up wiht a small dhu but legal a nice BA 45cm biggest I ever seen, and one of those yellow lipped sea sweep. Got home afte my 100km round trip amn fuel consumption goes up whne its crappy at sea use 1/2 a tank from 160l now for a question when I was idling my engin at home washing it i reved it slightly and it choked I suspect I have a problem with the fuel line as now it wont start and even when I manually pump it to prime it the primer dont get hard wiht fuel its tryes to start only to die again. It was due for a service /so its definatly going in and the wife goes to me dear should we take the boat out argh ;) any thoughts what could cause that? bloody glad it did not happen out at sea.

synthos, i had a similar problem......below floor tank.....check fuel hose condition for any cracks and that it has not come off, including fuel filters.

could be a blockage or as
could be a blockage or as mentioned a crack in the line, that has happened to me once ,check that first then try a high pressure air hose to blow the oposite way the fuel flows which should unblock it if anything is there, but def sounds like one of these two probs

If it's an Etec
Then it is shot...........had the same thing happen to me and one cylinder was completely seized (to be fair to the motor it was a computer programming error - one cylinder wasn't being told to get oil - will do it every time - they replaced the complete motor under warranty. Like yours it would start but die the moment it was put under load
