Fishing boat and tales - 6PR
Hi Team ..
My name is Christina and I am writing to you wearing my ‘boating diving and fishing show host hat’ for radio 6PR.
We have created a new segment for the show where we talk 'fishing and boating tales' .. the really big ones that become campfire and dinner party legends…
Last week we had a young guy on who went out for a dive with a buddy a few ks off shore In Perth … and after having his down under the reef popped back …. only to discover his boat had disappeared.. It was a good little yarn.. his own fault .. and he was lucky to find another boat in the middle of nowhere who picked him up and helped him find his vessel a couple of ks away ( he had not tied the anchor properly !!) he ended up all over the news and was a really good sport about it.
The format for the segment goes a bit like this
Two sections
Section 1 ( 5 minutes)
Establish the facts.. what were your plans for the day .. who were you with where were you ? Conditions etc.. let us get excited with you.. then the moment it all went wrong.
PAUSE for add break
Section 2 ( 8 minutes )
Diving into the ‘catastrophe’ and what was going through their mind.. how the heck did it all unfold ….how they managed to get back in one piece etc.. the lessons learned ( or if not the dinner party stories and internet fame they accidentally acquired!)
I’m wondering if I can ask your members to contribute. I can change names to protect the innocent.. ( and the fish!) the segment will be sponsored by DOT as a bit of a nod to water safety and we want it to be one of those ‘ OMG can’t stop listening moments in the show where our listeners are going NO WAY .. !!’
We will also collate all the stories into a tall tales podcast with 6PR .
Would you be able to give me a call please to discuss further
