Duo Jig rod or Uglystick

Just want some opinions of anyone that has used these rods or knows something about them.

Last jig rod was broke on the weekend (stripped of the eyes) but was only $20 so looking at upgrading.

Tossing up in my head

uglystick (probably a black tiger)
duo jig rod

Cheers
Dean

I currently have a ugly stick

I have a Ugly stick blue water jig rod PE8 that I use for bottom bashing at the moment. They load up nicely, there light enough, there not overly expensive and come with a 10 yr warrenty. And the other bonus is being fibreglass and not graphite composite they can take getting knocked around without busting easily.

jig sticks

The Ugly stick bluewater jig rods are nice but they're graphite composite not glass. The new series has actually increased the graphite component also to another 40% .

Dean, black tiger is discontinued........how much ya wanting to spend and what line class?

Jigging with 60lb line on

Tue, 2007-10-02 17:08

Jigging with 60lb line on that Pfleugar contender spinning reel, which probably wont last long...

Was looking at getting a cheapish rod $120 is about my limit as I don't do much jigging yet and it wont get used to often.

Have heard loads of good reports on the black tiger, but will be difficult to get one no doubt.  11kg drag would stretch the arms Mav, don't think my Pfleugar would unleash that sort of drag as it broke on a 6kg snapper...
