dunsborough

Hey guys.

dragging the boat down to dunsborough for the first time, and was hoping for some advice. was wonderingz;

1) is it worth bringing any crab nts down? was thinking of putting them in the shallows/weed beds, but not sure if any around?

2) will probably be launching form the marina, as checked out the quindalup ramp and seemed pretty shallow, so dont wannt get the car to far in the salt.  was wondering if any reccomendations as to what depth i should be looking in. hoping to fish for the usual demersal suspects.

3) was wondering about trying the fads given the forecast, but am not familiar with the ocean down here. wind and sell looking good on the forecast, btu not sure what that would equate to in these waters, and looks to be a bloody long way out!

any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

cheers!

Goat.

You'll be ok launching from old Dunsborough in your boat Goat but you will still get your tyres wet especially if launching on a low tide. If launching from the Marina drop a squid jig a few hundred metres from the jetty on the marina side and there's monster lurking around there. Will flick you a PM with some areas to sound out where I have picked up the odd demersal.

There is a beach ramp between the jetty and Mandalay resort where we have launched in the past - just a beach jobby.

We did OK for squid but threw some miles around but didnt find anything other than flat ground and lots of rum.

Lots of rum to the point that i forgot to pull the anchor up and was powering along at 25 knots wondering what was jumping out of the water behind me.....Very lucky
