Detecting fish in 100+m

Got Hds 12 gen2 woth 600w 50/200khz Going deeper now, like 120m and picks up bottom well but hard to see fish anyone got any suggestions on what setting i.e 50 khz or 200 khz. Things to tune the fish?

There are 2 different types
There are 2 different types of lowrance transducer that look similar but one is for deeper water (HSTDFSBL) - it is also a bit bigger than the standard (HSTWSBL). The bigger transducer for deeper water should pick up ground and fish in 120m easy, I had mine picking up fish in 220m on the move a couple weeks ago. All my settings were on auto as well.

Hey Guys,
Do any of you use the TM260 1kw with your hds gen2? Are they any good in the deeper water and worth the coin?
My 600w one works well upto 55m, reads bottom well deeper but fish low in the water column is a waste of time and I give up.
Will the transom mount sounder affect boat handling in a 6m ali boat?
CH Smith suggested I should get a simrad and bms or something but dont have enough $ to replace the sounder too.

simrad and BSM
hey man, im running a simrad as well as the HDS10.. from my understanding the only reason your going to need the BSM box is to give you better ability to get the most out of ya bigger wattages transducers.
im running a TM275LH-w (1kw) on the back of my 7.3 and notice no difference to the handeling at all.
