gday,
I went to my oil and gas lecture today and was suprised to see what damage marlin can do around oil rigs heres some pics....
""Hazards to be aware of"" ""These are pictures of the floating load hose on the FPSO Girassol in Angola, Africa that was pierced by a blue marlin. Load operations were shut down for a few days while they replaced the hose. For reference, this terminal produces about 250k barrels of oil a day and this loading hose is approx 24in in diameter.""

Unreal pics though, must have been a hell of alot of force/speed behind that bill when it pierced the hose.
Where did you do your oil and gas lecture?

read a story in wangler once about a guy that was diving at the rowley shoals, and seen a sailfish with no bill swimming around. they finished the dive and were heading back to broome, when the skipper noticed something floating on the water a few hundred metres away. they drove up to it, and it was a kayak they had lost earlier in the week, but it had a sailfish bill stuck in the side!

I have seen
A piece of bill stuck in some gunnel rubber but that is insane, Marlin vs Hose. Wonder what he was thinking when he went in bill first.

My guess is dat it was trying to attack some baitfish when it ran into the hose... as some have said would have needed to be goin quick!!!
