Cheers for the help

Just a quick cheers for the help and info on spearfishing.

Braved the wind out of Dampier today and got my first bluebone at 50cm. I slid in, loaded, took a breath, dove down and spotted and got him straight away. Pretty stoked for the first breath of a dive.

Into the esky he went and back in the drink I went. I couldn't belive it when I had another 2 of similar size swimming around me but with the new rubber I put on it I couldn't load the bast**d. I had to jump back in the boat and put a towel across my stomache to load the gun, I will definately need to work on the technique. Jumped back in and they were gone. Not to worry, it will just keep me wanting to come back.

Cheers Nath

I'm ashamed to say I was in a wetsuit. It's only a 95 but I've gone thicker and shorter rubbers. I've cut out a small section of foam matting that I can tuck into my weight belt which should help I think. I'm not a massive fan of the gun though. It shoots fine but the butt is not flat but rather pointed and it bloody hurts. Yes I know I'm being a bit week haha.

Try a thong down the front of the suit!

Sounds like you have it working, in any case!

but you want to make it enjoyable and hving to get in the boat everytime you load the gun just isnt- if you have the rubber and are able to make your own. make a couple up a little longer and as you get the technique down on loading it you can always cut them down a bit and make them smaller.

i would be pretty shitty having to swim all the way back to the boat after missing a fish - what have you gone with? 18mm or 20mm

in saying that i have a tuna and a cranx by rob allen and i love the single 20mm over the tuna 2x16mm its a bit harder too load but its one rubber that definetly does the job.
