Chasing info on Windy Harbor

Just wondering if anyone has some info on the launching down there? found an old post but wanted some updated info. From what ive heard the sands super soft and weeds often a problem. I've got a 5.3m fibreglass and wouldnt mind trying there when the conditions are right. Deep drop ground looks hectik

I was there last week

Weed sorted at the moment... but about 10 m of sand from concrete to the wet sand .... super soft and many having issues.

water  very shallow when launching.

note no finger jetty at all.. so you get wet.

i launched my dinghy easy  by driving forwards onto wet sand and launching next to the ramp with a Subaru Outback tyres down no issues at all.

mate pulled big boat out and got stuck with a real 4WD.

retrieving need tyres down and a good 4WD.

Cheers guys for the info

Thanks for the info guys, appreciate it.

obviously this time of year is best with the lower swell.. Would anyone have any idea what the max swell you'd try launching there in or the safest?

Hopefully i can get some good weather when ive got some time off to give it a shot.

I think if I go there it would be with a buddy car/boat incase one of us gets stuck any way.

Im in the process of doing up my colorado with lift/wheels and a few other things to help me in these sorts of events and id probs chuck max tracks down for assurance if it was soft.
