This afternoon the new repeater station on Cape Cuvier was turned on and is now operational.
IT works on channel 81 VHF and in theory should provide coverage from Carnarvon up as far as Gnaraloo depending on the shadow of Red Bluff. It should cover the western side of Bernier and Dorre islands as well.

Carnarvon sea rescue are purchasing extra radios for their main and home bases so that coverage can be maintained without having to switch off either 16 or 73, the channels we normally monitor.

If there is anyone heading up to Gnaraloo in the immediate future can they contact me via pm so we can test it out as far as range goes once they are up there.
