Hi Rob
For that sort of budget I would think you should be able to pick up a nice combination. There are certainly some great Daiwa reels and rods for bream fishing.
I would suggest that you make your first stop one of our Sponsor's shops, Oceanside in O'Connor, Compleat Angler in Joodalup and the Tackle Shack in Malaga. These shops stock top quality gear and their knowlegable staff will be able to point you in the right direction.
One of the considerations you might want to think over is whether you want to target bream with bait, lures or soft plastics, or all of those methods.

Gday Rob,
As what Colin. H said, go and have a peek and introduce yourself. They'll be keen to tee you up with some awesome gear to suit your price range.
p.s: introduce yourself and you might get a discount to boot!
Cheers lads,

If your going to be casting
If your going to be casting light lures like soft plastics then start with a spinning reel

PENN
penn is quite good also. i picked up a cheap penn bream combo for under $100 and it is fantastic quality so im sure the more expensive penn's are far better. Pflueger are also excellent quality rods and reels. but are a bit on the expensive side. we had a raffle with a pflueguer at work and it was worth $424 RRP.
