Bony herring?

Hi guys, long time viewer here, however I thought it's about time I stopped being lame and started posting!

I have a question...  first of all, I fish predominantly in the upper reaches of the river, eg. maylands through middle swan or thereabouts. This year I am yet to see bugger all bony herring activity...  have I been in the wrong place at the wrong time or have you guys noticed that there haven't been many? I've been dusting off the mulloway gear now that its hotter but I'd be more confident if I saw some splashing going on (and i'm sick of unfresh bait..)

Has anyone had luck on mulloway or large bream in the upper parts lately? You don't have to give spots away either!

Cheers guys

Chris

Canning

Check out the canning. There were tonnes of mullet/bonies splashing around on the surface yesterday afternoon. I even caught a bony on a baby vibe while targetting bream. I only landed a couple of rats so I'm not sure where the bigger fish are holding.

Hope this helps.

Usually this time of year

Usually this time of year it's hard to tempt the big bream to take a lure as they are in spawning mode they usually fatten themselves up before they spawn. I remember this time a few years ago u could see 2 dozen big blue nose bream at canning bridge but they weren't intrested in bait or lure I think they only have one thing on their mind

i've got 2 pretty good sized bream (28-30cm) on the upper reaches of the swan. i've seen bigger ones being pulled up but they're not that active. the small ones (20 - 23cm) are quite active though.

Cheers guys... may have to try the Canning however having fished all my life up these parts I really prefer to stay in the area!

Has anybody seen or heard of any mullas in the upper reaches yet? surely they should have made their way up by now?
