boat trip

hello again
Just a quick post to say we did manage to get out on sunday, and fish for the whiting and skate. I struggled and only caught a few small whiting and a strap conger eel. My brother in law had a great day boating blonde rays of 18, 20 and 21lb! A couple of other blonde ray were caught and some spurdog but on the whole it was a hard day...still it beats working and the weather was good. Take care one and all.
Tight lines rog

Alright guys Soz. I will
Alright guys Soz. I will put up the photos later this week, forgot me camera and am waiting for others. The whiting were about 2-2.5lb. A spur dog is like a dogfish, or smoothhound just has a spine in front of the dorsal fin. You can eat the ray, but much better if you l;et them live as there are better fish to eat and they are not overly common. Sorry about the slack report, please forgive me

We have a spurdog down here. Its like a skinny leopard shark with a spine in the same place you described, usually caught in water over 70 fathoms and I have only got them out off Cape Naturaliste
Have to agree any fishing is better than a day at work
