boat launching at point billie ningaloo

G'day guys just chasing info on launching boats at point billie on ningaloo station

I have a 20ft Ali and just wondering if it is possible. It's only a quinny so not that heavy.

I am aware of the corrida toons on the track in any info would be great.

Cheers

Off the beach Works Fine

I was at Ningaloo Station Last year in July and I launched and retrieved a 6m Plate Ali of the beach, I will be there on Saturday for a couple of weeks and plan on doing the same thing. There will be heaps of people there with boats who can point you in the right direction and even help. Take a couple of anchors and leave the boat in the water for the duration of your stay unless a big storm comes though, The station is pretty good with warnings over the radio when it looks like the weather is going to get a ruff and you should have plenty of time to pull it out if needed.

Point Billie has a flat rocky

Point Billie has a flat rocky area that slopes into the water, as long as you have a 4X4 and pick your tide you should be ok.

If you dont like beach launching, halfway between south lefroy and winderbandi in billie bay there is a rock platform that can be used as a boat ramp, its a bit bumpy to get in and out on but slow and steady wins the race and is very easy.  Its just near the limestone blocks with the signs on them, not sure if you need a key to get in there anymore as you need a key for each part of the station these days.

Otherwise the beach launch at north lefroy 1 is pretty easy, but you will need a key for that too.  If you have bog mats or those 4wd bog mats (xtracks or something) put them under your boat trailer when its fully reversed, will save it sinking in and save you a lot of hassle if your not experienced, plenty of places to get it in though.

Enjoy the track in, I hate that bloody drive, but love the place!
