boat flooring - help needed
Submitted by Simon C on Mon, 2007-10-08 08:15
The glue holding the carpet on my Tub has lifted after having fuel spilt on it. I figure it is pretty much rooted and stinks of fuel so I ripped it out last night. Boat is a plate one. Just wondering on what people have used in the past. Marine carpet is nice to walk on but I find it is hard to get any smell out of and because it lives in the garage can stink up the house for days.
I was thinking of the rubber matting like the Kiwi boats have, still non slip but drains and wont hold water, or trying to find someone who will do spray on Bedliner such as Rhino lining and do the back floor with that. An advice and if anyone knows where to get the rubber matting it would be greatly appreciated.

Watch the rhino lining mate
Watch the rhino lining mate i know its got good reps but ive got it and had it on my 4x4 trays and it does tare quite easy! So hooks and knifes anywhere near it would be a no no. You can but rubberised carpet which looks a lot like gabba grass but is strong as hard wearing, doesnt hold water and comes in a variety of colours. Well worth a look around the wake boarding comunity as alot of those guys run it in there power boats.
Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!
